Et Nadal perdit à Roland  Garros contre Soderling, pas très connu comme joueur de terre battue bien qu'il ait aligné Ferrer au tour précédent.
Nadal n'avait pas l'air en très grande forme, doutant de ses appuis mais Soerling était en très grande forme et avait du culot.
